Walking for Smiles
a Walk-A-Thon to Benefit the
Ronald McDonald House

My name is Nikki and I’m excited to tell you
about a project I’m working on as a senior at Page
High School in Franklin, Tennessee.

Being very familiar with the RMH as a volunteer,
I am hoping to continue my support of the house
as well as raise further awareness by raising
money through a Ronald McDonald House
Walk-A-Thon.

I first became familiar with and interested in the House
when my father formerly a News 2 employee was
involved in shooting spots for the Ronald McDonald
House Telethon. I love children, and anything
that has to do with them makes me so happy. That’s why
I want to use this walk as my senior project for my senior
year of high school.

Having been to the house several times for volunteer
events, I was delighted and amazed to see how the staff
works with families in their time of need. And, as a
member of The Page High Smiles for Kids Club and the Page
High Marching Patriots, it’s been a pleasure to have made
dinners for some of the families.

Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces, I wanted to
have the opportunity to do something for this wonderful
cause again. This is why I have chosen to organize a
community project to raise money for the House; because I
think what the house does and the meaning behind it is so
important that I want to support it!

Ronald McDonald House
is a "home away from home"
for families of seriously
ill children who are receiving
inpatient or outpatient
medical treatment at a
Nashville area hospital
