- PRAY ABOUT
EVERYTHING
"Don't
worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need,
and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which
exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
Recently I
had the opportunity to visit a 89 year old believer, and asked him: "To
what do you attribute your living so long?" He answered, "I keep
breathing!" In the spiritual realm, prayer is the Christian's vital breath.
We need to keep breathing His Holy Name in prayer in order to receive the
strength that can only come from above. Never relent. Never stop, for the
moment you do, the presence and the power of the Lord can be lost.
Have you been asking the Lord for relief from some situation in your life? Let
me warn you, the devil is going to do everything possible to twist truth and
circumstances to keep you from going to the throne of grace. Our strength is to
be found in only one person, and we need to ask Him to sustain us in the
battle.
"He
gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become
weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But
those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They
will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They
will walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:29-31).
We look above. Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Nothing is too big or too little for Him, for He is the Lord of both.
We look ahead, for all who walk with Him have their eyes fixed on the goal: "Looking
unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set
before Him, endured the Cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the
right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2).
They that wait upon the Lord look upward, outward and onward. Our Lord's
prescription for today and every day is handle your trial with prayer.
"Everyone should always pray and not faint." Don't worry about
anything, instead pray about everything."
